Read this, then think hard about your PayPal account.

PayPal was a lifesaver when Scott needed to send me money for the security deposit across state lines.

It’s saved me in my freelance career more than once.

But I am not above closing the account simply out of protest over this.

Why @PayPal is wrong regarding @Regretsy, according to their own policies. « greengeekgirl.

  1. Dwolla, Google Checkout, Stripe… those three came up along with Amazong Payments and Square in the comments thread of the post. Dwolla’s the radical “bank-killing” online payment service. I’m interested in seeing where that goes.

I wonder how long it would have taken an actual investigation to determine that Regretsy.com was not ripping a scam. Maybe thirty minutes? “Hello, we are investigating the matter, we’ll have an update for you by the close of business tomorrow. If you would like to email customer support/claims, you may do so at such-and-such email address.” That would’ve worked. Regretsy.com would have been pissed off, been able to be proactive in their defense, and only lost a day. They would not have made an international scandal out of it, however, and none of us would have ever heard about it.
Paypal doesn’t have any customer service at all. You hear of complaints like this all the time. It’s simply shocking how incompetent they are.
