I just came across this interesting study at Mashable.
It details the results of a small study of eye movements across popular webpages. The one that blows my mind is Flickr. The most popular visual destination on the Flickr page is the Flickr logo. Do you give your logo creator a bonus? Or fire them?
The result from the LinkedIn profile fits perfectly with the corporate mindset. You are your title.
And now for some paranoia.
These results are courtesy of EyeTrackShop. A major client of theirs is Google.
How long, Orwellians, before they start providing this service without the consent of the subjects?
You could use a webcam cover to ensure that your webcam is inactive.
Or you could use one that is hilarious.
