Another in a long line of evangelical Christians spouting the “If you’re not one of us, you’re no better than Satan” argument. Someone, please explain to me how voting for Obama will usher in “1,000 years of darkness”. How is it any different from voting for Romney, who is Mormon? At least Obama is Christian, a fact that the GOP talking heads ignore and, instead, choose to focus on the time he *gasp* studied another religion. There’s the obvious color-coded reason, but honestly, where do they get this nonsense?
I found this because someone posted this on Facebook with “I’m voting for Chuck!” attached. I know this guy is a nut because of his other far-right/tea-bagging/Jesus quoting but missing the point of the quote/gun-clinging views, but there are so many people who agree with him. Not nearly 30 million, as Chuck likes to believe, but enough to make this Taliban worrisome. If you don’t agree with Obama’s policies, fine. That’s a good reason not to vote for him. But this isn’t the argument Chuck is making here. He doesn’t even have an argument.
I don’t have a problem with people of faith. Yes, I am atheist, but everyone is free to practice their beliefs under the Constitution. My problem lies with people who use their faith to belittle and attack others.
Here’s a doomsday scenario that would be more likely to pan out:
